    Vice President Joseph N. Boakai has commended the Planned Parenthood Association of Liberia, formerly the Family Planning Association of Liberia for the Association’s continuous meaningful contribution towards the sexual and reproductive health and rights program of the nation.
    Vice President Boakai said with such program in place, responsible parents would be made, there will be a minimization of unsafe abortion, sharing of best practices and well as enabling the youth stay in school.
    According to a release the Vice President Boakai was speaking Wednesday when he received a high power delegation of the Association of Chief Executives of the member Association of the International Planned Parenthood Federation Africa Region. The IPPFAR is convening a three day meeting in Monrovia from the 8th to the 10th of November.
    According to Mr. Emmanuel Obeng, policy and Organization Learning Advisor at the Africa Regional Office of the IPPF in Nairobi, Kenya, the national Associations are locally owned but internationally connected.
    Vice President Boakai thanked the IPPF for choosing Liberia for the meeting and pledged Government’s continuous commitment to the development of the sector.
    Speaking earlier, the Executive Director of the Planned Parenthood Association of Liberia, Madam Miatta Kiawu Cojolo introduced the delegation to the Vice President and hailed Vice President Boakai for his support to the Association over the years, a release from the Office of the Vice President said.
