VP BOAKAI DELIVERS DONATIONS TO HEALTH MINISTRY

Vice President Joseph N. Boakai, today, presented medical supplies worth over seven hundred thousand United States dollars US$ 700,000) to the Ministry of Health in a bid to augment the country’s efforts at strengthening the health care delivery sector.
Efforts to mobilize the supplies kicked off as a result of a visit paid by Vice President Boakai to the United States State of Arizona a few years back. The supplies were hauled, packaged and shipped at the cost of over twenty thousand United States dollars (US$ 20,000) which was raised by Project CURE, Coalition of Liberians to Combat Ebola in Liberia (COCEL), the Liberian Association of Arizona (LAA), and the Patriots for the Transformation of Liberia (PTL).
Among key personalities involved in the undertaking were CURE Project Manager Michael Fry, LAA President Dr. Robert Sherman, Maricopa Community Colleges’ Chancellor Dr. Rufus Glasper, and PTL’s Gayah Fahnbulleh and Sando Wayne.
At the head of Health Ministry authorities present to receive the supplies were Health Minister Dr. Bernice Dahn, Deputy Minister for Administration Edward Tolbert, and Chief Medical Officer Dr. Francis N. Kateh. The ceremony took place at the Health Ministry Compound in Congo Town.
